PROGRAMMES FDP Overview
| Faculty Development Programmes at TAPMI Campus, Manipal STATISTICAL METHODS FOR RESEARCH: AN INTRODUCTION April 16-20, 2013 (5 days) MULTIVARIATE STATISTICAL TECHNIQUES FOR RESEARCH June 10-14, 2013 (5 days) |
Analysis of data is an integral part of all types of research such as management, social sciences and commerce. A clear understanding of statistical tools and their appropriate usage are indispensable for researchers.
The focus of both the faculty development programmes (FDPs) will be to familiarize participants with statistical tools that can be used for data analysis to answer research questions. The programs will focus both on descriptive and inferential statistics with special emphasis on hypothesis testing. They will cover the entire process right from classifying variables, describing variables using descriptive statistics, defining the null and alternate hypothesis, selecting appropriate error level, identifying appropriate statistical test, checking assumptions of the statistical test, conducting statistical analyses, and interpreting test results.
The programs will cover a variety of introductory and advanced multivariate statistical techniques frequently used to analyze data. They will also help participants learn how to conduct statistical tests using real life data and statistical software.
