32nd batch of PGDM and 5th batch of PGDM-Healthcare students joined TAPMI
TAPMI welcomed its 32nd batch of PGDM students into the family on 29th June 2014 at their ceremonial Induction Program. The Post Graduate Program Chairperson Prof. Prashanth Yatgiri introduced the dignitaries to the proud parents and enthusiastic students. Prof. R C Natarajan, Director – TAPMI welcomed the gathering while Prof. Vinod Madhavan, Chairperson -Student Activities introduced the dignitaries Dr. Shantaram, Trustee & Governing Council Member, TAPMI who presided the function and the Chief Guest Mr. E S Chakravarthy, Head – TCS, Bangalore.
Dr. Shataram recounted the passion, dream and vision of Padmasri awardee Sri T M A Pai and Padma Bhushan awardee Sri T A Pai the architects of the Manipal Group of Institutions.
In a highly motivated speech, packed with fervor and vigor, the chief guest Mr. E S Chakravarthy assured the students that there was no dearth of opportunities in the market today. He reassured that regardless of their background of study it was possible for each one of them to deliver, provided they focused on competency building. “Read for information, study for understanding and apply then for knowledge”, reiterated Mr. Chakravathy in a speech that encompassed on the wide spectrum of topics including striving for efficiency, differentiated experience, paving the way for globalization, equipping oneself for risk management, increased degree of compliance and the need for sustainability with a word on the emerging trend in technology.
This year TAPMI welcomes a batch of 423 aspirants from a diverse spectrum of educational backgrounds, work experiences and areas of interest. This batch has ten HCM students and five students enrolled in TAPMI – University Of Dubai MBA Program. The average work experience of the new inductees hovers around 2.5 years where 70% of the candidates have prior industry exposure. TAPMI has been able to achieve good gender diversity; the female representation has increased to 33%. While 83% of the student admitted this year are Engineers the Institute has been able to attract (17%) students from the non-engineering streams of study as well.
