“October 19, 2018: ‘Daan Utsav’ – The Social Endeavor Group of TAPMI with the help of a few kannada speaking volunteers visited an old age home, Vishranthi Dhama as a part of Daan Utsav formerly celebrated as Joy of Giving, a festival of philanthropy. Vishranthi Dhama is an old age home run and managed by “Spandana Charitable Trust”. It is situated in Adarsha Nagar, Manipal, where it shelters 15 senior citizens. The volunteers sang old kannada songs and the elderly people sang along and clapped to songs of their favorite heroes. They were also engaged in some drawing and painting which took them down the memory lane. Above all they shared stories in the reminiscence of their past which described how small things in life matter a lot. During the time spent, the enthusiasm they showed clearly depicted that they were just old at age but young at heart.”
The student city of Manipal, Karnataka plays host to the T.A. Pai Management Institute, fondly known as TAPMI.
