MANTHAN

Manthan is a Budget Conclave organized by the Finance Forum of TAPMI in the month of March. It is a student run initiative to bring together Economists, CXO’s, Bankers, Regulators and Fund Managers to discuss recent trends, emerging issues, challenges and opportunities in the industry with a sharp focus on the Union Budget announcement. The events aim to create a platform for students from the financial domain to showcase their knowledge and network with senior industry professionals.

Events to be organized during Manthan 2018 are:

Student Managed Investment Course – Grand Finale

The SMIC Grand Finale provides experiential learning by enabling students to make investment decisions in the BSE/NSE listed companies. Students learn the nuances of trading and handle real money. This is our endeavour to bring together industry experts and our students on a common platform. The final presentation by the SMIC teams is scheduled for March 11th, 2018. Each team will present a summary of their learning and the performance of their investments in relation to the benchmark and the presentation will be judged by an eminent panel of senior capital market professionals. The key highlights would be Investment Philosophy, Stock Selection Criteria, Portfolio Performance Summary and the Learning from the course. Event Date – 10th March 2018.

Arth-Neeti

The intra college Budget themed event is an important part of the conclave and it gives the students an opportunity to showcase their analytical skills pertaining to the Budget 2018. The students have to critically analyse various aspects of the decisions taken in the Union Budget and come up with their analysis which they have to present to the judges. The students were also made to present on sector-specific analysis of these decisions and their recommended changes for the same.

Samnidhy Investor’s Meet

Samnidhy is a Student Managed Investment Fund and the only one in India to be legally registered with the Registrar of Companies. It is run and funded entirely by the student fraternity of TAPMI. Samnidhy is run by a Board of directors and is mentored by an advisory board comprising of senior capital market professionals. All this is done with a view to equip students to the hilt, so that they are poised to perform cum laude in the industry. The Board of Directors will deliver a formal presentation on the stock selection process which was adapted prior to investing in the market. Apart from the above mentioned events, Finance Forum also organizes an intra-college event along with several interactions between guests and students in the form of CCC Sessions (Coffee Cookies and Conversations) and several Guest Lectures.
