Saunak Sarkar is a faculty member in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior. Their research examines the intersections of embodiment and identity of employees, with a particular focus on the lived experiences of gender and sexual minority individuals. Drawing on qualitative epistemologies, their work seeks to make visible workplace accounts that are often dismissed, or obscured. Through their work, they aim to contribute to alternative ways of knowing, organizing, and understanding work and organizations.
Their teaching and mentoring philosophy is grounded in developing insightful, humane, and ethically driven managers. They encourage students to draw on their own intellect and experiences while grounding their decisions in organizational and ethical values, with an emphasis on creating fruitful outcomes for employees, organizations, and society.
