Coconut (Horticulture) Value Chain Project

Coconut (Horticulture) Value Chain Project

The project involved identifying the bottlenecks in the current coconut value chain in South India and making recommendations to eliminate them.

The project objective was to understand why the increase in wholesale prices of coconuts have not resulted in a trickle down benefit to the farmers. This project required an in-depth analysis and recommendations on how to fill up the observed gaps. A thorough understanding of the current value chain was carried out by conducting numerous visits to the coconut farms in the region.
