Professor Vivek is a distinctive amalgam of industry and academia. He is a trained academician and a prolific researcher in sustainability and entrepreneurship. He earned his PhD and MBA in strategic management from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. His research has won multiple prestigious awards and recognitions including ‘best research’. His research on ecosystems and sustainable entrepreneurship has been published in leading management journals including Journal of Cleaner Production and International Journal of Entrepreneurship Research and Behavior.
Through a rich industry experience spanning 17 years, he has gained pragmatic skills in international relations, service operations, people management, and cross-cultural competence. In his current role as the ‘Chairperson for International Affairs and Collaborations’ at TAPMI, he has orchestrated signing of multiple students and faculty exchange MoUs with prominent institutions across USA, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Under the aegis of the university, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), TAPMI leverages relationships with over 250 top global institutions.
Dr. Vivek is an active council member of the G20 committee for entrepreneurship (Startup20) contributing to the Indian (2023) and Brazilian (2024) presidencies and continues to engage in present year’s (2025) South African presidency of the G20. With his research and advocacy, he is actively engaged in designing and building a favorable ecosystem for sustainable entrepreneurship in the G20 nations.
