A graduate of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, and the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), he has held several academic leadership positions, including Associate Dean (Executive Education) and Chairperson of the Department of Marketing. He also contributes to higher education governance through his service on the academic boards of Central University of Jharkhand and Xavier University, as a member of a Strategic Academic Advisory Board, and on the Academic Council of IRMA, Anand.
Dr. Pradhan has published extensively in reputed journals, such as European Journal of Marketing, International Marketing Review, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Consumer Affairs, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, among others. His work has been cited widely, featured in global media (e.g., The Washington Post, The Independent), and engages with themes of consumer empowerment, sustainability, and subversion in emerging markets.
As the Editor-in-Chief of Management and Labour Studies (SAGE), Dr. Pradhan has spearheaded initiatives to internationalize the journal’s contributor base and mentor new authors. He has co-edited multiple special issues—recently for the Journal of Consumer Affairs on “Pandemics and Consumer Well-being”—alongside collaborators from North America, Europe, and Asia. Currently, he is co-editing a special issue for Electronic Markets, a leading interdisciplinary journal—alongside experts from Europe with diverse ethnicities. These experiences have deepened my commitment to curating rigorous, relevant, and globally inclusive research.
His research priorities are situated at the intersection of consumer welfare, brand activism, and
technological disruptions. His specific research interests include influencer marketing, consumer-brand-
technology interaction, consumer well-being, consumer engagement, consumer subversion, advertising
appeals, celebrity endorsement, sponsorship, and anti-consumption behaviour. Dr. Pradhan conducts experiments
