29th Annual Convocation of TAPMI, Manipal
The 29th Annual Convocation of TAPMI, Manipal was held on March 28, 2015 in Manipal, Karnataka. The occasion was graced by the presence of Shri. Balasubramanian Muthuraman, Ex- Chairman Tata International Ltd., and Ex-Vice Chairman Tata Steel Limited, who was the chief guest for the evening.
In the convocation address, Mr. Muthuraman shared his experiences about overcoming the challenges of life. He expressed his views on success, education and life. He spoke about the values which cannot be taught in classrooms such as courage, ethics, good judgment etc. Speaking about good leaders, he explained the various issues that the society faces and how the graduating students, who will be leaders tomorrow, can help society in tackling these issues.
A total of 395 students graduated from the institute of which 388 students from Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and 7 students from PGDM- HC (Healthcare management). The top three meritorious students were Mr. Kathiresan, Mr. Rana Anshuman and Mr. Varun Khanna. The award for the most meritorious student in healthcare was Dr. Tanvi Saxena. The late Dr. Ranjan Acharya Award given to the best student in marketing was received by Mr. Varun Khanna. Prof. M.V. Kini award was won by Mr. Harshavardhan. Both ‘TAPMI Achiever of the Year’ and ‘Titan of the Year’ award for the best overall graduating student was won by Mr. Kathiresan.
Dr. Ramdas Pai, Chancellor of Manipal University, Dr. H.S Ballal, member of TAPMI trust and governing council, and Dr. Ramnarayan, Vice Chancellor of Manipal University, Dr. R C Natarajan, Director of TAPMI were present.
