Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, Nitin Gadkari delivered the 22nd leadership lecture on ‘Education for development’ at the TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) in Manipal on Monday.
Gadkari said leadership is about working collectively with people and maintaining good relationships. Vision of the leader, with the help of knowledge, can lead to miracles, he said.
Gadkari shared his experience as a Minister in Maharashtra in 1997-98. He recalled that the government had sanctioned only ₹10 crore to build the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and explained how he was able to raise ₹4,000 crore for it from the capital market.
RC Natarajan, Director of TAPMI, and Ramdas Pai, Chairman of TAPMI Governing Council and Chancellor of Manipal University, were present on the occasion.
