Ms. Surbhi Dewan, Vice President HR, Delhivery, enriched the students’ learning experience at TAPMI on the 19th of August, 2015 by sharing her knowledge and valuable industry experience with them. While interacting with the students, she touched upon the crucial HR practices such as recruitment and selection, talent attraction, talent retention, employee engagement etc. She discussed about the challenges that HR managers face in a growing business and also the expectations from the future.
Ms. Dewan shared her personal experiences, the challenges that she faces and the possibilities galore in growing organizations. In this day and age employee attraction and retention are the areas where companies need to focus, as for employees there is no dearth of opportunities and there is fierce competition in the market. It is the need of the hour that organizations show the employees the real picture about their work and at the same time put in efforts to become the employer of preference. She also helped the students understand the human resource perspective towards business operations in the rapidly changing and competitive environment.
Students showed keen interest in the session and asked questions that often cross their minds while studying human resource text books. The theory when put in practice becomes a great learning. Ms. Surbhi explained the practice part of the concepts and answered all the questions that the students asked her. The session was very interactive and gave the students an opportunity to ask questions and helped them get a new perspective towards HR.
