The Finance Forum at TAPMI is an initiative to acquaint the students to the world of finance and transfer the knowledge about the various domains of the financial sector through various formal and informal events. The Forum, one of the most coveted fora of TAPMI with its legacy spanning over a decade, has gradually evolved into a strong scaffold for building long-standing and mutually beneficial relationships between the corporate and student communities.   This forum believes in imparting knowledge about finance in an offbeat manner which is evident from the variety of innovative games organized. The Finance Forum is the “Cradle of Finance” at TAPMI, bustling with activities throughout the year. The forum is dedicated to providing its members networking opportunities with students, faculty, alumni, and business leaders, and also gives students a multitude of leadership opportunities within the institute.

Mission and Objectives

• To acquaint the finance enthusiasts of TAPMI with the vast world of finance, through several formal and informal events.
• To nurture quality professionals in the field of finance by providing them the right platform to hone their analytical and problem solving skills.
• To organize events of grandeur on the national and international levels.

Events Organized

The following are the events and activities organized across the year:

HORIZON: The Finance Conclave : The conference is aimed at bringing together finance professionals from investment banks, commercial banks, mutual fund houses, credit rating agencies, business houses as well as academicians, alumni, and students to discuss recent trends and emerging issues in the industry, the challenges and opportunities.

MONEYBHAI: This is a week long event which requires teams to trade in a simulated Stock Market scenario with a virtual corpus.  An initial corpus of Rs. 2,500,000 is given to each team at the start of the event. This is held with the intention of acquainting students with online trading.   The onus is on the team to achieve the maximum portfolio value at the end of the event.  This game tests the understanding of the teams about the stock markets and their adroitness in picking the right stocks.  The winner is duly rewarded.

GLOBAL INVESTOR: Investing Skills tested to spread a corpus of 10 million TAPMI dollars across five countries and three investing avenues.  This too is a simulated money game.

BUDGET SESSION: This event aims at facilitating panel discussions and open house discussion sessions to dissect the Union Finance Budget, to create an awareness and understanding of the same.

CRY OUT LOUD:  This event has become a huge success, and has earned a good reputation across B-Schools. The game is based on the traditional concept of trading in stock markets whereby traders shout the prices of the stocks to be bought or sold.

FINBYTES: FinBytes is a concept in which finance related terms and their meanings are sent to the batch on a regular basis so that they can acquaint themselves with the basic terminology in accountancy, stock markets, commodity markets, derivatives markets and other areas related to finance. 

GUEST LECTURES & SEMINARS: Guest lectures and seminars by eminent personalities from the industry or academia are periodically organized to encourage knowledge sharing and expertise among students.

HELP SESSIONS FOR STUDENTS:  Help sessions are provided for students to help them increase their familiarity with basic finance concepts.

In addition to the above events and activities, events like MOVIE MARATHON (Series of movies on Finance topics), MULYA (Finance Case Analysis Competition), and FINANCE QUIZ (Online Quiz) etc. are also organized to keep the students hooked to the world of Finance.
