STUDENTS Achievements
Mr. Kaushik R. and Mr. Vivek Pushkar (PGP2) secured the 1st place in the National level B-plan competition – DISHA’13 held at MDI, Gurgaon on 24th February, 2013. The competition was conducted in association with “National Innovation Foundation” and it involved helping rural entrepreneurs sell their products in the market.
Mr. S. Vivek’s (PGP1) article, “Inflation – Measures to Control” which was sent for the “MBASkool Article Writing Contest” October 2012 has been published on MBASkool.

Ms. Esha Gupta’s (PGP2) article titled, “Shockvertising” has been published in the 1st edition of Loyola Institute of Business Administration’s magazine, “Trinity”.
Mr. Ratan Taparia (PGP1) and Ms. Esha Gupta (PGP2) were chosen as 1st and 2nd Runners-up respectively in the “Best Manager” Competition, the flagship event of Loyola Institute of Business Administration.
Mr. Krishna Sheshadri and Mr. Rithwik Krishnakumar (PGP1) finished Runners-up in BIMQUEST, the flagship quiz event of Bharatidasan Institute of Management, Trichy.
Mr. Deepanshu Bhatia’s (PGP2) article “Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation” has been published by “Prarambh”, the Entrepreneurship Cell of IMT in its newsletter Empressaria.
Ms. Esha Gupta's (PGP2) article "Digital Marketing" has been published in "Simposium '12", the yearly magazine of Sydenham Institute of Management Studies and Entrepreneurship Education and she has bagged the Runner - up prize in the inter-collegiate article writing competition for Simposium.
Mr. Raspal Singh (PGP2) won 2 prizes at the Institute of Public Enterprises, Hyderabad. The events were:
1. Launchpad - A strategy event - 1st prize (Rs. 10,000).
2. Ad-Mad - An advertising event - 1st prize (Rs. 10,000).
Mr. Pramod Khandelwal and Mr. Syed Reza Salis Naqvi’s (PGP2) case, “Mehta Soya: a Promotional Conundrum” will be published in the Jan-March ’13 issue of Vikalpa – the journal published by IIM Ahmedabad. Incidentally, their case won the 1st prize (beating IIMA) in the International Case Masters Competition which is IIMA’s flagship event.
Mr. Unnikrishnan Nair, Mr. Vipin Vinod and Mr. Venkata Someswara Rao’s (PGP2) paper titled, “ ‘Game On’: A Study of the Phenomena of Gamification and an Empirical Study of its impact on the youth in Manipal” has been accepted for presentation at the International Conference on Trade, Markets and Sustainability (22nd & 23rd February, 2013) organized by Symbiosis Institute of International Business.
Ms.Esha Gupta (PGP2) won the 1st prize in the inter B-school article writing competition conducted by The Human Edge – The HR Club of IMI, New Delhi for its annual magazine – ‘The People Tree’. The title of her article is “Innovations for a Learning Organization”.
Mr. Amit Kumar Pansari (PGP2) and Prof. Ajith Kumar have won the 3rd prize in the International Case Masters competition conducted by IIMA for their case, “Staff Scheduling at SAP Labs”.
Mr. Pramod Khandelwal and Mr. Syed Reza Salis Naqvi (PGP2) have won the 1st prize in the International Case Masters competition - a flagship event of IIMA for their case, “ Mehta Soya: A Promotional Conundrum” after 3 intense rounds (2 offline and 1 on-campus).
The following Students won the prizes at the 20th Business School Affaire held on 23rd and 24th November 2012 at Mumbai:

2. Best Female Student - Ms. Esha Gupta (4th position), Rs 1.5 lakhs

Mr. Rohit Ganeriwal (PGP2) won the 2nd prize in an All India Photography competition, “Shutterbugs” organized by IMT-G.
Mr. Vivek Chagoiwala's (PGP2) photo was adjudged Winner in the category - A Glimpse of Rural India in a photography contest, "FRAMES 2012" organized by CII Yi XLRI. His photograph was one among 112 entries from various B schools.
Ms. Veena Akella's (PGP2) article, “The inevitable disruption” has been selected for publication in MBASkool.com article section.
Mr. Unnikrishnan Nair (PGP2) and Prof. Vinod Madhavan’s paper, “ ‘Hangout’ with Doctors – Consumers’ Expectations from the Healthcare Practitioners through the Social Media and the Internet: An Empirical Study in Manipal ” has been accepted for publication and presentation in the Nirma International Conference on Management, 2013 (NICOM 2013) at the Institute of Management, Nirma University, Ahmedabad.

Dr. Jacqueline Simons of PGP1 HCM and Mr. Anish Raj of PGP 1 article has been published in the 3rd edition of DSM Chronicle.
Mr. Unnikrishnan Nair of PGP2 and Prof. Vinod Madhavan’s paper 'Bookmarking the Doctor: Social Media Usage Amongst Doctors & Consumers for Health Care' has been accepted for presentation at the prestigious AIMS International Conference to be held at IIM Bangalore, 6th – 9th January 2013.
Mr. Sidharth Panigrahi of PGP2 and Prof. Vinod Madhavan’s paper "A study of internet search behavior of engineering students in Manipal" has been accepted for publication and presentation in the NICOM: Nirma International Conference on Management, 2012.
Ms. Esha Gupta of PGP2 article titled "Tapping the untapped market" has won the First Prize in IIM Rohtak's Apratyaksha '12- Management Article Writing Contest.
Ms. Isha Pandey of PGP2 article titled "Is the future of banks in India shaky?" has been published in the October Issue of Niveshak: The Finance Magazine of IIM Shillong.
Mr. Soumya Kanti Mitra, Mr. Amal Nicholas and Mr. Sushmit Sinha of PGP2 won the second runners-up at Entrepid-The Business Strategy Case Study Competition at IIM Indore.
Mr. Kausik R of PGP2, Summer Internship Project was adjudged the Second Best Project in the Summer Project Contest (SPC) - Marketing Module at NITIE, Mumbai.
Mr. Nishith Maheshwari and Mr. Vineeth V of PGP 2 won the Forex Trading Competition FORESIGHT'12 at IIM Indore.
Ms. Esha Gupta of PGP 2 article titled "Marketing to Youth: How different does it have to be" secured the Best Article Prize in Marquess- Marketing Magazine of IIM Ranchi.

Ms. Esha Gupta and Mr. Vijay Bhagat of PGP 2 won the 2nd Position at "VIVAAD — War of Words": The inter B-school debate competition held at NITIE, Mumbai.
Ms. Harsha Vatnani of PGP 2 won the prestigious Summer Project Contest (SPC) - HR Module at NITIE, Mumbai outshining teams from XLRI, NITIE, MDI, IMT to name a few.
Mr. Viraj Naik Bhatkar, Mr. Abhilash Talapatra and Mr. Kaushik R of PGP2 being amongst the Top 10 finalists in "CHANAKYA - The Mastermind"- Best Management Student Contest (2012).
Ms Esha Gupta of PGP2 article titled "The Impact of Women on the sale of Men's products" won the 1st Prize in the Markmantra (IIFT) October Article Writing Contest.
Ms. Aditi Trivedi of PGP2 have won 4th Position in the nationwide marketing competition comprising 160 participants organized by MyMitra.com.
Mr. Arvind Kumar and Mr. Divyanshu of PGP2 article title "Social Media Banking-A Paradigm shift in Banking" have been published in 'ConQuest' of IIM Shillong.
Mr. Priyang Agarwal of PGP2 article title "Cloud Computing: Value for SMEs" have been published in 'ConQuest" of IIM Shillong.
Ms. Preetha S and Mr. Vijay Bhagat of PGP2 have won the "Maria Philip Memorial" Inter B-School Debate Competition 2012 organized by XIME, Bangalore.
They have won a cash prize of Rs 15,000, rolling trophy and certificates.
Mr. Arnab Roy and Ms. Preetha S of PGP2 having made it to the Top 10 articles in an "Impact Writing" competition organized by IIM Kozhikode in association with Madhyamam Daily.
Mr. Venkataramana Reddy, Mr. Goutham K S and Mr. Sharan Viswanath of PGP2 secured the 2nd position in the IIM-Bangalore Vista Business Quiz held on 29th September, 2012.
Mr. Ratan Taparia (PGP1) have won the Second Position in SHIPWRECK competition at VIBES organized by Kasturba Medical College.
Mr. Viraj Naik Bhatkar and Mr. Vidhi Vinod of PGP2 have been amongst the 25 final shortlisted entries in the “Summer Internship Experience” article-writing contest conducted by Managementparadise.com in association with Flipkart. The main prize is a PPI possibility with Flipkart!!!.
Ms. Poonam Moolchandani (PGP2) and Ms. Anshul Gupta (PGP1) have been selected as Printbindass Campus Ambassadors from TAPMI
Mr. Unnikrishnan Nair(PGP2) have won the HR article writing competition conducted by the HR Club of IIM Ranchi.

Mr. Viraj Naik Bhatkar(PGP2) and Ms. Poonam Moolchandani(PGP2) being in the Top 50 India Africa (A Shared Future) B-plan Competition conducted by ISB, Hyderabad. Apart from certificates, they won a hefty cash prize of US$ 250!!!
Mr. Arnab Roy(PGP2) and Ms. Aparupa Bandyopadhyay(PGP2) have won the first prize in the article writing contest for 'MARKATHON' - IIM Shillong's magazine.

Mr. Ankit Chawla(PGP2) was an integral part of the Winning Team at the India edition of the Novartis Biotechnology Leadership Camp 2012.
Mr. Raspal Singh(PGP2) and Mr. Sidharth Panigrahi(PGP2) Marketing Plan has been selected for the Live Marketing Plan Contest organized by learwithflip.com. Further, they have been appointed as the South Zonal Marketing Managers for FLIP National Challenge'12.

Mr. Harikrishnan B, Mr. Chaitanya Ingle (PGDM -HCM) and Ms. Madhurima Sarkar (PGDM- HCM) have cleared the 1st module of APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
Ms. Veena Wadhwa secured the 4th position and Mr. Raman Gupta secured the 6th position in unique national level program 'Nissan Student Brand Manager' started by Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) in 2010 to find talented management students.

Mr. Eldrich Vincent Rangel and Mr. Sharan Viswanath secured First Position in Pracchana 2012, an inter collegiate quiz competition hosted by the Department of Management Studies, Dayanand Sagar College, Bangalore. They won a trophy, certificates and a cash prize of Rs. 5000.
Mr. Sidharth Panigrahi’s article titled “Can India catch up with China?” has won the January Edition of Article Writing Competition conducted by Dare2Compete.com.

Mr. Ameet Kabad and Mr. Ankit Prakash stood first in the Business Quiz Competition at Kurukshetra 2012 − The Annual Management Fest of Manipal Institute of Management. They won a cash prize of Rs 10000, a trophy and certificates.
Mr. Amit Kumar Nahata, Mr. Anup Dhanuka and Mr. Shivaram Kulkarni secured the 1st position at the Equitology - Global Equity Research Challenge at Great Lakes, Chennai.
In Equitology, a team had to select one of the emerging economies (Thailand, Malaysia, Poland & Egypt) and submit an equity research report for the company residing in that country. After three intense rounds on Equity Research Quiz, Equity Research Report and Presentation on the subject company, our students were declared winners and were awarded Merit Certificates and a Cash Prize of Rs. 35,000.
Five of our 2nd year students have been awarded the Sir Ratan Tata Trust scholarship for the year 2011-2012. The names of the students are –

Dr. Jagmeet Kaur (HCM-II) won the 1st position in Campus2Corporate Contest 2011 at the State Level. She secured the highest marks amongst candidates from other states like Tamil Nadu and Orissa. The competition was intense and comprised 3 rounds focusing on (a) Corporate Employability; (b) Communication and Presentation; and (c) Attitude and Behaviour.
Mr. Amit Kumar Nahata, Mr. Ankit Prakash, Mr. Anshul Aggarwal, Mr. Vikas Khanna and Mr. Shivaram Kulkarni represented TAPMI at the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2011-12.
Mr Shaurya Sharma’s paper titled "Understanding the preference of Indian internet users towards communication channels at pre, during and post purchase stages and its implications for e tailing websites" has been accepted as a conference paper in the 7th SIMSR Asia Marketing Conference to be held in 6-7 January, 2012.
Mr. Neel Jadav won the 1st prize in the poster making category at a poster and video making competition on Tourism of India hosted by Symbiosis Institute of Business Management - Bangalore in September 2011. Neel’s poster was on Gujarat Tourism.
Mr. Ashish Dabral, Mr. Raj Kumar & Mr. Ritesh Kumar have won the first prize in Excellence Business Idea Competition 2011 conducted by Tejogami and Excellence Group.
Apoorva Gupta of PGP2 won a Consolation Prize worth 10,000/- from a business plan competition, Provenance 2011 on 4th Nov, 2011 that was organized by Manipal University Technology Business Incubator (MUTBI), in association with Manipal University and TAPMI.
Mr. Milan Singla and Mr. Renjith Krishnan have won First Prize for their paper on “PPP Model for Medical Tourism in India” in the event titled El Vigor, conducted by V G SOM, IIT Kharagpur on 29th October 2011.
They outshined institutions like IIM-L, IIM-S, XLRI, NITIE, IIFT-Kolkata. The awards included a prize money of Rs. 12,000 and certificates.
Mr. Sourav Chakravarthi and Mr. Raspal Singh of PGP-1 have won the first prize in the national level MBA event – BLUEPRINT.They were awarded with a Certificate and cash prize of Rs. 5000/-.
Their topic was 'FDI opportunities in India, post recession.' (BLUEPRINT - A research paper presentation at NIT Suratkal, invited full papers, both conceptual as well as empirical/case study, from students.
Mr. Nirmit Jain (PGP-2) secured the first position in the Fast Forward event conducted IIM B for their fest “Vista”. The event was regarding forex trading on FXCM platform. He has been awarded a free forex training module sponsored by FXCM in their Hong Kong office, a cash prize of Rs.15000/- and a certificate.
Mr. Jitin Sam Phillip and Ms. Preetha S emerged as Runners-Up outshining more than 60 teams in the Finals of South India Inter B Schools Debate Competition held at Madras School of Social Work, Chennai on 1st October 2011.
They won a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/-, certificates and a trophy.
Krishna Chaitanya of PGP 2 won first prize in PaGulGuY.com photo contest 2011.
Shaurya Sharma, Sourabh Rai and Gagan Saraswat were the winners of the prestigious Carbon Score Contest conducted by Cognizant Technologies in Chennai.
The cash prize was a whopping Rs. 25,000 (Twenty Five Thousand Only).
An Essay titled "Is nuclear power the answer to ending India’s energy deficit?" by Anup Robins has been one of the winning essays from the INDIA Future of Change Essay-Writing Contest 2010-11.
This was evaluated by Financial Times, the knowledge partner for the contest.

TAPMI won second prize in Almanac, a poster making competition, organized by NITIE, Mumbai.
In the event held at NITIE, Mumbai, Budding managers had to unleash their creativity and bring out the hidden talent of poster making in them by creating an iconic poster that embodies the spirit environmental responsibility. The Theme for the competition was “Energy Conservation : First step towards a better tomorrow”
Two students Mr. Gautam Prasad and Mr. Krishna Chaitanya of PGP-2 participated under their Team Name : Green Revolutions. There was a cash prize of Rs.1000/- for the second prize.
Mr. Ankit Prakash, Mr. Anshul Agarwal, Mr. Subramaniam Gopalkrishnan and Mr. Vikas Khanna of PGP2 have successfully cleared CFA Level-1 examination in their first attempt.
Mr. Ankit & Mr. Ameet receiving the cheque of Rs.75,000/- for winning the Tata Crucible Business Quiz 2011.
Mr. Dinakaran Balasubramanian and Ms. Mythreyi Ranganathan were the Winners of Maria Philip Inter B-School Debate Competition, held on October 16,2010 at XIME, Bangalore.
