1. Is the EPGP-EG program open/relevant only for Government employees?

E-Governance projects involve a large number of players - the Government, the private sector investors who participate in Public-Private partnership initiative of the Government, IT majors who provide the ICT Infrastructure Consultants, who work closely with all stake-holders to conceptualize and design appropriate e-Governance solutions. Given the specialized and complex nature of e-Governance projects, capacity gaps have been identified at all levels and among all stake holders.

Hence EPGP-EG is as relevant to those from the private sector as it is for experienced Government personnel. It is also relevant to those wishing to make a career shift from the Private sector to the Government and vice-versa.

2. Is the Program eligible for sponsorship from the Government?

Yes. Funds have been earmarked for Capacity Building to implement the National e-Governance Plan [NeGP] of the Government of India. The sponsorship is only available for Government employees. Employees from State/UT Governments may seek sponsorship from their respective Departments of IT. Candidates in the first batch received sponsorship from DIT, GOI and the respective State Governments; NISG too may be contacted for clarification. [Please click on  ‘Contacts’ link]

3. In the likelihood of Government sponsoring an employee, will the Government pay TA, DA etc?

The extent of funding/sponsorship will be determined by the DIT concerned. The applicants may directly contact their State Governments or State Department of IT regarding the same. NISG too may be contacted for clarification. [Please click on the 'Contacts' link]

4. When will the course commence?

The third batch of EPGP-EG classes are likely to commence  in February 2013.

5. Is the EPGP-EG course approved?

The program is actively supported by the Department of IT, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the State Governments. Two-third of the first batch received Govt. sponsorship, which took care of the program fee. Besides, the course has been designed jointly by the Government of India [through its IT Department], the Academia and the Industry.

6. Who will be the faculty for the EPGP-EG?

The faculty for EPGP-EG will include senior Professors from TAPMI and senior consultants from NISG. The leading practitioners from the field - senior consultants from the Industry and IIM Ahmedabad etc will also be providing faculty support.

8. Can I submit the application Online?

Yes. You may also download the application form online and submit by post/courier.

The application is a detailed one requiring the candidates to submit several descriptive essays. Hence, the candidates are required either to purchase the application form paying Rs 1500/- or to download the application from TAPMI website free of cost, complete the application and the essays and mail / courier them to TAPMI.
