TAPMI organized a half day workshop on healthcare management on January 7, 2010 to seek experts’ viewpoints and inputs on curriculum design of a post-graduate programme in Healthcare Management, scheduled to commence in June 2010. Padma Bhushan Dr. Valliathan, former Vice Chancellor of Manipal University, Manipal was invited as chief guest and moderator of the workshop. Dr. Saji Gopinath welcomed the experts to the workshop and briefed everyone present about the aims, objectives and intentions behind launching the healthcare management course. He requested the participants’ valuable inputs for the curriculum design of the course. Professor Simon George gave a brief description of scope, status and potential for healthcare business and management education in the country and explained the course objectives. He then presented the course outlines prepared by him in consultation with other experts. The experts discussed in detail the content and scope of the course and offered their valuable suggestion to make the programme a unique PGDM experience in the country. The workshop was concluded with a sincere vote of thanks offered by Dr. T.N. Badri
Earlier to this date, on January 5th, 2010, TAPMI had invited Mr. Rajen Padukone, President, University Programmes Manipal Universal Learning, Bangalore, for discussing collaboration, faculty exchange, placements and expert guidance for the proposed healthcare management program.
