February 14: TAPMI’s Center for Indian Culture, Heritage and Management was hosted one day conference on “Managerial Excellence Through Indian Ethos” held at the Institute’s premises.

February 04:The Annual TAPMI Alumni meet, Homecoming was held on Saturday, the February 4 this year. The campus was alive as some Alumni started coming in early for the event. The Alumni were welcomed by the PGP students at the registration desk and there was an excitement in the air. Of old faces meeting new, of reliving old memories. The old hotographs put up around the canteen caught all their attention. They relived their moments at TAPMI.

JANUARY 2012

January 26: TAPMI celebrated India’s 63rd Republic day with the same enthusiasm and zeal for which it is known for. Dr. A S Vasudev Rao, Director In-charge was the chief guest of the function. The function began with the hoisting of the flag by the chief guest followed by singing of the national anthem.
It reminded us of the fact that a lot needs to be done and the onus is on the shoulders of the youth today. With this in mind, TAPMI in association with Lions Club, Manipal a volunteer organisation organised a blood donation camp in the campus.

January 20-22: TAPMI concluded its annual international B-School festival Atharva on 22nd Jan’12 at Hotel Valley View. The institute was glamorously decked up throughout the three day festival, much to the delight of the incoming participants from institutes located in different parts of the country like Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Kozhikode, Bangalore, etc.

January 17: TAPMI organized its 29th T. A. Pai Memorial Lecture in the memory of its founder late Shri T. A. Pai at Hotel Valley View. The Chief Guest for the evening was Dr. V. A. Panandiker, President, Academy of International Education, Goa, who delivered a lecture on "T. A. Pai: Innovator in Banking & Governance". Shri K. Jairaj , Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka, was the guest of honour for the evening.

DECEMBER 2011

December 02: Ms. Chitra Ramkrishna, Joint Managing Director of National Stock Exchange India Ltd, delivered a lecture on “Leadership Lessons in Institution Building” at TAPMI. This lecture organized by T. A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal is ninth in the line of the Silver Jubilee Leadership Lecture Series.

November 2011

November 17: A team of 8 Delegates from Boston University visited the Campus for a brief visit and interaction with Prof. Chowdari Prasad, Dean (P&D), Prof RC Natarajan, Associate Dean (Academics) and Prof PS James, Chair-International Exchanges.

November 14: Mr. Jens Romaus, SAP, Walldorf, Germany visited the Campus and had a brief Discussion with Profs. Vasudev Rao & Chowdari Prasad. He was accompanied by the Chief Information Officer of Manipal University Mr. Balakrishna Rao. They discussed on the implementation of SAP software on Student Cycle and integrated solution.

November 12: BrandScan-2011
This year 19th Edition of Brandscan was conducted in Two Phases. Phase 1 was inaugurated by Prof. Chowdari Prasad with guest of honour Prof. A. Sivakumar at City Center Mall, Mangalore.
Phase 2 was held at Manipal and was inaugurated by Mr. Devendra Shinde, Vice President (Marketing), Mahindra 2 Wheelers, Mumbai at MJC Grounds.
Vodafone was the main sponsor of the event. Data were collected for 15 projects through Disguised Games from the participants.


OCTOBER 2011

October 30: Social Endeavour Group students of TAPMI organized a cultural programme by children from Children's Home, Nittur and Balniketan, Udupi as a part of the Joyfest 2011 celebrations.

Pratibha Devisingh Patil in the University town of Manipal today. April 02: The third TAPMI Silver Jubilee Leadership Lecture, ‘Entrepreneurship as a career’ was delivered by Mr. Manish Sabharwal, a successful serial entrepreneur and co-founder of TeamLease Services, to the TAPMI fraternity in Manipal.   Teamlease is India’s largest staffing company with nearly 75,000 employees across 800 locations in India.  Mr. Sabharwal is an MBA from Wharton and has co-founded companies that include IndiaLife, ICAP India and India Insure Risk Management.

March 06: Shri Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-chief, CNN-IBN and renowned journalist, delivered a lecture on ‘Customer Orientation and Objective Journalism’ to the students of management and journalism in Manipal.  This was the second of the Silver Jubilee Leadership Lecture Series, commemorating TAPMI’s 25 years of excellence in management education.  The initiative is intended to nurture future leaders by providing a platform to the young business minds to interact with the great leaders of today.

March 05: A discussion session on the Union Budget 2010-11 was organized by TAPMI’s Finance Forum with support of the fraternity.  Among the panelists were experts Prof. Avinash Paranjape, Mr. K. Ananthanarayan Pai (Chartered Accountant) and Prof. Rajiv Shah.  Prof Paranjape gave macro economic implications of the budget.  Mr. Pai gave a detailed insight into the tax proposals made in the budget, while Prof Rajiv Shah gave a briefing about the Direct Tax Code (DTC) and Goods and Service Tax (GST) proposals to be brought into force from April 1, 2011.


FEBRUARY 2010

February 13: Shri M .V. Kamath, reputed journalist and honorary director of the Manipal Institute of Communication inaugurated the Awareness Programme on Indian Culture, Heritage and Management at TAPMI.  The programme was an effort by the Centre for Indian Culture, Heritage and Management (CICHM) at TAPMI to study the linkages between management and Indian art, spirituality, literature, history and heritage.

January 7: TAPMI organized a half day workshop on healthcare management to seek experts’ viewpoints and inputs on curriculum design of a post-graduate programme in Healthcare Management, scheduled to commence in June 2010.  Padma Bhushan Dr. Valliathan, former Vice Chancellor of Manipal University, Manipal was invited as chief guest and moderator of the workshop.
