CLASS ROOMS

TAPMI’s new facility has several classrooms with seating capacities ranging from 60 students to 90 students. The classrooms are all air conditioned and specially designed for interactive participation, with executive-style seating and furniture. Although the entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled, each desk is also equipped with a LAN port for cable-enabled internet access. Each classroom is also equipped with equipment for projection facilities to enable presentations, and video-based and audio-based sessions. Some of the classrooms also provide video-conferencing facilities.

Classroom space at the TAPMI’s campus is adequate for not only the PGDM program, but also sufficient to accommodate several simultaneous training and executive education programs, when required.

INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY(ICT)

TAPMI firmly believes in the maximal use and full leveraging of Information and Communication Technology in all spheres of its activities.  Faculty and students are actively encouraged to use state of the art technologies in teaching, learning, research, and allied academic endeavours.  To facilitate this, TAPMI has built a world class ICT infrastructure comprising of high quality hardware, software and communication systems, over the past decade.

ICT.JPGThe institute provides high end laptops of industry standard configuration to students and faculty, along with LAN connections (both wired and wireless), in addition to 24/7 Internet connectivity.  These computers are networked via high-end blade servers and managed switches.  Two ISPs together deliver a total bandwidth of 16 MBPS (1:1);  this bandwidth ably supports the various services offered such as email, browsing, access to vital databases (online  as well as in-LAN), and several other resources on the institute’s intranet.  The institute has put in place Video-Conferencing facilities at its Manipal as well as Bangalore (TAPMI-CEE) centers – both IP-based and via ISDN.  These facilities are used for class room functioning, group meetings, and virtual and interactive lectures and discussions.  Facilities such as laser printers, DVD writers and scanners are also available for peripheral support.

The institute’s two Computer Center labs, one Examination lab, a systems lab, a digital library, ten class rooms with full ICT support, three hostel blocks having LAN connected PCs, amply enrich its academic machinery.  Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) equipment and two diesel generators provide electric power in the event of power failure.

ICT has been effectively deployed at TAPMI for administrative functions too.  TAPMI’s sprawling 42-acre residential campus into which it moved in January 2009, is now fully connected, thanks to a series of projects undertaken and executed by TAPMI’s ICT team.

HOSTEL

TAPMI’s new campus has two hostels for men and one for women.  The hostels have been designed keeping in mind the students’ requirements for rigorous study accompanied by soothing relaxation.  Each room has an attached bathroom and 24-hour hot water facility supported by solar heating.  All the hostels have lifts, back-up power and Wi-Fi Internet connectivity.

hostel.JPGThe hostels for men have 55 double rooms and 50 single rooms each, while the hostel for women has 50 double and 45 single rooms.  The capacities of the hostels are adequate for accommodating the  students and a few rooms have also been converted to accommodate guests.

At present, students in the second year of the PGP program can opt for a single room.
