As an institution specialising in higher education in management, TAPMI has the mandate of creating conscientious individuals capable of taking holistic decisions that leave long lasting positive impact in the society. Realising this, every aspect of TAPMI’s working – be it in the curriculum of its flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme, or in the design of executive and academic development programmes or in the development of the research environment – is designed with the objective of influencing the thinking processes of the individuals associated, to steer them towards this goal. The systems and processes in TAPMI are crafted to perfection to translate its philosophy of nurturing multi dimensional – economic, social and moral – wealth creators. By religiously following this philosophy for the last 25+ years, TAPMI has created a unique space for itself in the crowded management education space in India.

TAPMI has been consistently rated by different ranking agencies among the top 1% of the business schools in the country. But more than this, the ambassadors of TAPMI have risen to the top echelons of corporate hierarchy and are contributing substantially to the accelerated economic growth of the country. The quality of TAPMI’s educational processes has been well recognised by national and international agencies. The highest accreditation of Five Stars from the NAAC and an A grade from the NBA are some of the testimonials received in the past. TAPMI boasts of having faculty and staff resources committed towards the philosophy of true education. The curricula and design of our offerings are continuously updated not only to reflect the current trends in management, but also to ensure that our goal of nurturing socially sensitive individuals is not compromised at any stage. Some of the innovative components of PGDM such as Management-in-Practice (MIP) and Brandscan are reflections of this.

While contributing to knowledge dissemination activities through its numerous programmes, TAPMI gives equal emphasis to knowledge creation and application activities as well. Faculty members are actively involved in research and consulting activities. The institute also facilitates joint research between students and faculty. Several of its faculty are recognised globally for their research contributions and it is a matter of great pride to the institute that it is contributing its bit to the development of management theory and practice.

During 2009, TAPMI turned a new leaf in its journey towards excellence by shifting to a new campus with most modern facilities. Set in the scenic locale of Manipal hills, in the International University town of Manipal, TAPMI’s sprawling new 42 acre campus provides the right ambience for management education and research. Several new programmes are being planned for the coming years to shift TAPMI to higher orbits of excellence. Guided by a group of thought leaders who form the Trust and Governing Council of TAPMI, it is expected that in the years to come TAPMI will transform into a major educational institution of lasting repute. After all, that is our commitment to realise the dream of our founder Sri Tonse Ananth Pai, a visionary leader who was instrumental in the development and growth of many monumental organisations in India.
