Prof. Seena Biju won the Best Paper Award (Marketing) for her paper titled “Conforming Aaker’s Brand Personality Dimensions on the Advertising Industry – A study in the UAE”, co-authored with Khyati Shetty, Manipal University Dubai, UAE the 11th International Business and Social Sciences Research Conference, Dubai - Jan 2015 co-organized by the World Business Institute, Australia and American Research and Publication International, USA.
Prof. Sivakumar received an award for the case entitled “UPSL – Exploring Operations Strategy Options,” in the Operations Management Category in the ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition 2014. The Award Ceremony was held on November 21, 2014. It was hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), as part of their Knowledgexpo 2014 at the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR. As the winner of the ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition 2014, he received a cash award sponsored by Amazon and a certificate from the ISB and Ivey Business School. This case will be published by Ivey Publishing as an ISB-Ivey co-branded case study and will be available also through the HBS case collection. An abstract of the case will be published on the homepage of the Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Case Development (CTLC), ISB.
Prof. Durga Prasad’s case "Kingfisher Airlines: A Pie in the Sky?” has won the Jonathan Welch best case in finance award at the North American Case Research Association (NACRA) conference. This is a prestigious award given to the outstanding case in accounting , finance or economics.
Prof. Madhu Veeraraghavan’s paper with Cameron Truong, Paul Dou and James Hunton titled "Individualism, Uncertainty Avoidance and Earnings Momentum in International Markets" has been accepted for publication in Contemporary Accounting Research, one of the world's top four accounting journals. This journal is published by the Canadian Academic Accounting Association.
Prof. Rajiv Shah has published a chapter in a book brought out by the prestigious publisher Edward Elgar, UK. The book is titled, “Environmental Taxation and Green Fiscal Reform-Theory and Impact” and Rajiv’s is the 17th chapter in it, titled “Exploring the need for direct tax incentives for plastic waste management in India”.More details about this book are available at:
Prof. P S James, titled “Aligning and Propagating Organizational Values” in the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies Annual Research Conference, has been published by them in Procedia Economics and Finance, an open access conference proceedings series run by Elsevier.
Prof. Madhu Veeraraghavan’s paper titled “Is the Accrual Anomaly Robust to Firm-Level Analysis?” co-authored with Maria Strydom and Michael Skully has been accepted for publication in the International Review of Financial Analysis [IRFA]. IRFA is an ‘A’ ranked journal published by Elsevier.
Prof. Kunal, along with his co-author Prof. S. K. Mishra of IIM Indore, has published a chapter titled Capitalism in the Indian social environment: An ethnic perspective, in a scholarly book Capitalism and the social relationship : an organizational perspective. Prof. Kunal has been awarded a fellowship of US $ 1000 to travel to and present a paper at a prestigious conference in Canada. The conference is conducted by the Academy of International Business (AIB) at Vancouver, Canada, June 23-26, 2014 as part of the AIB Foundation Area Scholars Fellowship program. This paper will be published in the top-ranked Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) run by AIB.

Prof. Debmallya Chatterjee has obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, following his research related to the application of Fuzzy AHP. (Jan 2014).
Prof. Debmallay’s paper "Delphi-AHP Mixed Approach in Calibrating Hospital Site Selection" won the third position in the AIMS international Doctoral paper competition 2013 held at IMT Ghaziabad during 21-24th December 2013. Prof. Madhu Veeraraghavan's project titled "Firm Control and Financing Choices in Indian Firms" has been accepted for funding under the NSE-IGIDR CG Research Initiative Scheme. His team, which includes Aditya Jadhav, Ramesh Rao (Oklahoma State) and Bin Srinidhi (University of Texas, Arlington) has been awarded USD 2000. (Oct 2013).
Prof. Madhu Veeraraghavan's research paper has won one more funding for a project "Tie-in-Agreement in IPOs; Evidence from the Indian IPOs Market" has been accepted for funding under the NSE-IGIDR CG Research Initiative Scheme for USD 2000. He has collaborated with Ghon Rhee (University of Hawaii) and Suman Neupane (Griffith University, Australia). (Oct 2013)
Dr. R C Natarajan was adjudged as Best Director, Prof. Ajith Kumar awarded Best Professor in Operations Management and Prof. S R Vishwanath awarded Best Professor in Financial Management in Hindustan Unilever- BSA- Dewang Mehta Business School Awards held in Mumbai during October 2013.
Dr. Simon George was awarded Best Professor in Marketing Management and Dr. Ganes Pandya was awarded Best Professor in Operations Management at the Star Group- Dainik Bhaskar- National Education Leadership Awards held in Mumbai during October 2013.

Mr. Unnikrishnan Nair(PGP2) and Prof. Vinod Madhavan’s paper, “ Hangout’ with Doctors – Consumers’ Expectations from the Healthcare Practitioners through the Social Media and the Internet: An Empirical Study in Manipal ” has been accepted for publication and presentation in the Nirma International Conference on Management, 2013 (NICOM 2013) at the Institute of Management, Nirma University, Ahmedabad.
Dr. K Manjunath, Chief Librarian at TAPMI has been chosen for AIMS International Outstanding Librarian Award – 2012. This award will be conferred on him at a ceremony on January 06, 2013 at the 10th AIMS International Conference on Management to be held in IIM-Bangalore.
Mr. Unnikrishnan Nair of PGP2 and Prof. Vinod Madhavan’s paper 'Bookmarking the Doctor: Social Media Usage Amongst Doctors & Consumers for Health Care' has been accepted for presentation at the prestigious AIMS International Conference to be held at IIM Bangalore, 6th – 9th January 2013.
Mr. Sidharth Panigrahi of PGP2 and Prof. Vinod Madhavan’s paper "A study of internet search behavior of engineering students in Manipal" has been accepted for publication and presentation in the NICOM: Nirma International Conference on Management, 2012.
Prof. Siva Kumar (jointly with Prof. Ajith Kumar) received an award for Case Writing on Innovation from ISB-Hyderabad at the AIMS Convention on 27 August.
Prof. Gururaj H Kidiyoor, has been conferred with “ Best Professor in Marketing Management” award by World Education Congress 2012 in Mumbai on June 29.
Dr. Sulagna Mukherjee has been selected for the AIMS International Outstanding Young Woman Management Researcher Award for her exceptional research credentials.
Prof. R.C. Natarajan has been inducted as a Member in the Board of Management Studies of Siva Sivani Institute of Management, Secunderabad.
Prof. Sulagna Mukherjee holds a Ph.D degree in the area of Corporate Finance from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. The title of her thesis is "Corporate Capital Structure in India: Trends, Issues and Determinants".
Aug, 2009: Prof. Gururaj Kidiyoor successfully defended his doctoral thesis titled “Perceived Risk in the adoption of high technology product innovations in business buying,” on August 27, 2009 at Manipal University. Dr. Kidiyoor has been teaching at TAPMI for over 10 years. Prior to joining TAPMI, he worked in TVS Electronics, Wipro, and Digital Equipment in the areas of marketing, sales and distribution. His academic interests include Business to Business Marketing, Personal Selling, Sales Negotiations, Marketing of High-Tech Products.
Prof. ( Dr.) Vasudev Rao, our Director received the national award for “Best teacher in management for South India” at the B-schools award function on August 10 at Le –Meridian, Bangalore. Based on his credentials and background he was selected by a group of industry leaders who acknowledged his contributions to the industry and academics. Prof. Vasudev Rao, as we all know, is widely acknowledged as an expert in Entrepreneurship and Project management areas. The award was instituted by the Deccan Herald group.
Contribution to Management Case Studies:
"About 150 cases and other teaching materials from TAPMI have been registered with the European Case Clearing House (ECCH). These materials are outputs of MIP based on the collaborative effort of the students, faculty guide and the industry guide. Recent information from ECCH shows that these materials have been accessed widely for use by faculty in business schools."
