Q1. What Post-Graduate programmes does TAPMI offer?
A.
TAPMI offers 2 year full-time regular PGDM programme and a similar programme in Healthcare Management-PGDM (HC). Both are fully residential prgrammes.

Q2. Are these two programmes approved by AICTE?
A. Yes, both the programmes are approved by AICTE.

Q3. What is TAPMI’s intake for admissions?
A. TAPMI currently has AICTE approval for 465 seats for regular PGDM and 60 seats for PGDM (Healthcare).

Q4. What test scores are accepted by TAPMI for admission to regular PGDM programme?
A. TAPMI would accept CAT 2012/XAT 2013/ GMAT 2011 & 2012 scores.Candidates applying through GMAT scores must send their score-cards latest by 15th January 2013.

Q5. What are the test scores accepted by TAPMI for admission to PGDM - Healthcare programme?
A. TAPMI would accept CAT 2012/ XAT 2013/ GMAT 2011 & 2012/ MAT 2012 (September and December) scores for PGDM-Healthcare.

Q6: Does TAPMI have Institute Code for GMAT ?
A:
Yes.  TAPMI has Institute Code for GMAT and the Code is as below:
    For PGDM programme – KNC-M7-26
    For PGDM-Healthcare programme – KNC-M7-06

Q7. What is the total programme fee for regular PGDM & PGDM - Healthcare?
A. For the PGDM and PGDM-HC 2013-15, the total Academic fee for two years is Rs.9,90,000 and Rs. 9,50,000 respectively; annual Hostel fee and Food Charges are extra. For more information please see the details.

Q8. Where can I obtain the prospectus & Application form?
A. The Prospectus or Handbook of Information for Admissions 2013 would be available at Coaching centers of IMS, T.I.M.E as well as select branches of Axis Bank and Indian Overseas Bank, TAPMI - CEE Koramangala Bangalore and Admissions Office TAPMI Manipal. 

Q9. What is the Application fee?
A. The Application fee is Rs.1,500.

Q10. How does one apply to TAPMI?
A. Whether a candidate buys a hard-copy of Handbook of Information from Coaching centers/Banks or accesses the soft copy on our website, all applicants have to submit the Application Forms Online. Payments can also be made by means of Demand Draft on any bank or pay online with debit/credit card.

Q11. Would the hard-copy of Handbook of Information contain a hard-copy of your Application?
A. No. Every hard-copy of Handbook of Information would contain a coded “Payment Voucher” and when the coded number is keyed in by any Applicant in our Online Application form, the system would allow submission of the same.

Q12. When is the last date for Application submission?
A. The last date is 5th February 2013.

Q13. What is the procedure for candidates applying for PGDM - Healthcare?
A. In the Online Application form, candidates have to clearly indicate whether their candidature is to be considered exclusively on CAT/XAT/GMAT/MAT scores.

Q14. Should all candidates screened for the second stage of the Admissions process (GD/PI) travel to Manipal to attend interviews?
A. No. For Admissions 2013, TAPMI would hold GD/PI at different centers across the country viz New Delhi/ Mumbai/ Kolkata/ Hyderabad/ Bangalore/ Manipal/ Chennai.
We are envisaging to add more centres like Cochin, Ahmedabad subject to sufficient number of applications from these places.

Q15. Does TAPMI shortlist only by cut-off scores in CAT/XAT/GMAT of candidates for second stage (GD/PI)?
A. No. For Admissions 2013, TAPMI intends to go in for profile-based short-listing for GD/PI, which means that due weight-age would be assigned to components like Academic record/ Professional qualifications /Work-experience etc while the short-list is prepared.

Q16. Does it mean that CAT/XAT/GMAT cut-off scores would be different for each candidate?
A. Yes. In such a system it would be different because a candidate with a good Professional degree and considerable Work-experience stands a better chance of qualifying for GD/PI even with a comparatively lower CAT/XAT/GMAT score vis-à-vis a fresher.

Q17. Does TAPMI offer specialization in Finance/ Marketing/ HR/ Systems/ Operations?
A.  Yes, TAPMI offers specialization in all the above functional areas but the option in the 2nd year lies with the student who is offered a basket of electives to choose from. However, the PG Diploma finally awarded by TAPMI would not indicate any area of specialization.

Q18. Does TAPMI have any reserved category of seats or quotas for admission?
A. TAPMI has 5% of seats under the flagship PGDM programme ear-marked for NRI students, and additional 15% seats for Persons of Indian Origin (PIO). Otherwise, the Institute has only the merit channel, without any quotas or reservations.

Q19. Is there any age limit to pursue the PGDM programme of TAPMI?
A. No. TAPMI does not discriminate candidates based on their age.

Q20. Does TAPMI offer any financial assistance or scholarships?
A. No. TAPMI does not offer any scholarships to its students. However, some merit awards and Ratan Tata Scholarships are awarded to the meritorious students on selective basis.

Q21. Does TAPMI arrange any Educational loan for students?
A. All banks in India sanction Educational Loans to students liberally. Selected students could directly approach any of the Nationalized / Pvt. Sector Banks for Educational loan. TAPMI would assist in facilitating the process, by providing necessary documents/certificates etc.

Q22. Does TAPMI has a twinning programme?
A. No. But TAPMI has collaborative arrangements with Sheffield Hallam University, UK, Asian Institute of Management, Manila and Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand for student exchange programmes for PGDM and PGDM - Healthcare programmes.

Q23. Can a graduate of PGDM at TAPMI pursue PhD programme in India or abroad?
A. Of course they can. The 2 year PGDM of TAPMI is recognized by Association of Indian Universities(AIU) as equivalent to 2 year full-time Masters Degree (MBA) and hence PGDM students of TAPMI could pursue PhD in India or abroad.

Q24. What is TAPMI’s Placement record?
A. TAPMI students had 100% placement record consistently for the last several years. (More details are available in “Placements” page of our website).

Q25. When do candidates have to send their GMAT score-cards?
A.
 Candidates can send scanned copy of their GMAT Score cards even while applying to TAPMI admissions, if it is available with them. If they would appear for the examination on a later date, they must ensure that it reaches latest by 15th January 2013.

Q27. What are the credentials of TAPMI in terms of B-School Rankings, accreditations, etc?
A. TAPMI is consistently ranked among the top 20 Best B-Schools in the country (eg., The Week, Outlook, mbauniverse.com, etc).  It is accredited by AICTE, NBA and AACSB International.  It is graded (the highest) A*** at national and state level (Karnataka) by CRISIL since June 2011.  Students and Faculty of TAPMI regularly win awards at national level competitions.

Q28.What is the educational requirements for admission to PGDM-Healthcare Management?
A.
A graduate in any discipline (including medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, para-medical, bio-sciences, commerce, arts, engineering, etc) with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.

Q29. What are the placement prospects for students of PGDM-Healthcare Management?
A.
First batch (2010-12)HCM students were recruited by Dr Reddy’s Labs, Cognizant Technology, Manipal Hospital, Manipal Universal Learning, HDFC Standard Life Insurance, ICICI Bank, Time Analytics and Kubos Consultancy.  The second and third batch students are currently on campus who are looked at by various Healthcare related organizations for internship and placement.

Q30. What is the procedure for NRI / PIO quota of seats in the two programs?
A.
The entire procedure viz., eligibility, application fee, dates for submission, hostel facilities, etc., is same for general as well as NRI / PIO candidates applying for both the programs.  NRI / PIO definitions are given in the Handbook for Admissions.  After submission of applications online, they will be shortlisted and called for GD/PI in the centres opted.  The program fee is at USD 30,000.

Q31. How to make payment through DD?
A.
Please draw DD on “T. A. Pai Management Institute”, payable at Manipal or Udupi. After entering the DD details in the online application form, send the DD to TAPMI Admissions office through Registered post / Courier.
